About the role
At Zevra we build software for companies in Bolivia and Chile: stores, internal systems, automations and AI agents that are in production today. Almost all of it runs through a backend: an API taking orders, a webhook arriving from WhatsApp, a database that can't go down.
We're looking for someone starting out who wants to learn backend on real projects from week one. You'll write code that ships to production, always with someone on the team reviewing it with you.
We don't ask for work experience. We ask for curiosity, consistency and wanting to understand why something works.
What you'll do
- Build endpoints and services in Node.js and TypeScript for projects in production.
- Connect third-party APIs: payments, WhatsApp, Notion, invoicing.
- Model data in PostgreSQL and write the queries that move it.
- Write tests and document what you build so someone else can follow it.
Your first 90 days
- Month 1
You set up, read the code of a project in production and make your first changes with review.
- Month 2
You own an endpoint or a full integration, end to end.
- Month 3
You propose an improvement to something that exists and ship it.
Who we're looking for
- You study computer science or similar, or you taught yourself and can show it.
- You've built something in JavaScript, Python or another language, even a side project.
- You're curious about how things work under the hood.
- You ask when you're stuck instead of staying quiet.
Nice to have
- A GitHub repository with something of yours.
- Having used Git on a team.
- Having shipped something online, however small.
This isn't for you if…
- You're looking for a course with lessons: here you learn by building.
- You'd rather wait for detailed instructions than try something.
- You can't commit to part time consistently.

A few final words
If you've never worked at a company, that's fine. Show us something you built, however small, and tell us what you learned building it.
